Every day Jesus extends his hand and invites you to a dance called Remember.
He remembers all his promises to you – he is faithful forever. Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.*
And he loves to dance with you! Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. **
May God’s promises to remember you …
give you the courage and the ability
to remember your promises to him
and all that he has done for you.
And may you take his hand and follow his lead.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your strength
and with all your mind’;
and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.***
Here is your prayer for the next two weeks:
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law. I remember, Lord, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them. Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law. Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge. In the night, Lord, I remember your name, that I may keep your law. This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.
Psalm 119:49-56
Benediction of Blessing
(Read again paragraph four above).
Every other week the Blue Spigot includes a section of Psalm 119, a prayer from David that serves well as our prayer, asking God to rekindle in us a love for his word – both the Living Word, Jesus Christ, and the written version (the Bible).
Pray it aloud. Pray it thoughtfully. And pray it several times over the next two weeks.
